Last Sunday, the 88th Academy Awards began with host Chris Rock giving a humorous monologue, followed by Mad Max: Fury Road picking up a total of six awards. Later the audience watched as  Chris Rock’s daughter’s began selling Girl Scout cookies to various celebrities, and finish up with Leonardo DiCaprio finally capturing an Oscar, and Spotlight winning the title of best picture.

Best Actor- Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant)

Best Actress- Brie Larson (Room)

Best Supporting Actor- Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies)

Best Supporting Actress- Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl)

Best Director- Alejandro González Iñárritu (The Revenant)

– A new Predator movie simply titled “The Predator” is confirmed. It will be directed by Shane Black and set to release on March 2, 2018.

– Fox has scheduled two mystery Marvel films for October 6, 2017 and Jan 12, 2018. Also, Fox has dropped “Gambit” from its 2016 release schedule.

– Liev Schreiber confirms talks with Hugh Jackman about playing Sabretooth in “Wolverine 3”. The movie is set to release on March 3, 2017.

 

– “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will get an R rated blu-ray called the “Ultimate Edition”.
