Johnson varsity track took first overall in both boys and girls at the Alamo Relays on March 23. The team was led by junior Robert Ford who had three gold medals and senior Quinlan Wright, who also had a gold medal.

“We did very well at this meet,” Ford said, “ I am proud of the way we performed.”

Both girls varsity and boys varsity took first place in the Alamo Relays. The girls finished with 126 points while varsity boys scored 152.

“I think all of us worked hard and performed great at this meet,” Wright said.

Quinlan Wright finished in ninth place in the 110 meter hurdles and the boys 200 meter relay qualified at the Texas Relays in Austin on March 30.

“I believe that we ran well and finished near the top,” Wright said.

The team has improved this season and is looking for continued success in an already impressive season.

“We have made strides in becoming a better team this year,” Wright said.

The Jags are forward to the NEISD Relays on April 5.

“Our goal is to finish strong and win districts,” Ford said.
