Student Spotlight: Alissa Murphy

Out of 1,665 submissions, senior Alissa Murphy was awarded the honor of representing the Brahmas at the 2022 National Art Honor Society/National Junior Art Honor Society (NAHS/NJAHS) Juried Exhibition.

“I didn’t know that it was like a big deal,” Murphy said. “I kinda just did it on a whim.”

Murphy based her art piece on the themes she was exploring in her art class.

“Depicting emotions is something that I’ve always struggled with,” Murphy said. “So I was trying to come up with an interesting way to depict anxiety and a panic attack. It’s something we all deal with.

Murphy’s artwork will be in the virtual exhibit which opens on Tuesday, Jan 18. You can view her artwork here
