Across the Stars

Sam Beach, Cor. Charcoal and pastel, 2024.

By Leire Ramos

Across the stars are the moments I miss the most.

Where the collision of dust envelops the shallow moonlight

 Into the forgotten void,

           My memories awaken with hope.

In the glistening constellations my dainty hands trace,

           The puzzles I reminisce.

Across the stars lie the deceptions you created

             In your vivid imagination.

They linger around in orbit

Before crashing down on the universe.

Across the stars you can find me,

           Flowing like a celestial force

Towards the black hole

           Inside my broken heart.
