At the start of every season, teams have to replace key guys at many positions along the field because members of previous year’s teams have graduated, and this is not any different for Johnson because many starters from last year’s team are now gone.
Every year the football team plays the annual homecoming game. This years game will be against district foe Churchill with the jags having a chance to improve their record to 5-1.
Johnson football games are always a memorable experience for students and fans. And now that some new rules have been put in place, the experience can be more enjoyable and safer as well.
Last year Johnson comfortably defeated the Harlingen Cardinals 36-0 on the road. This year the Jaguars defeated the Cardinals once again by the score of 35-23 after a summer of working hard and preparing for the upcoming season. The next game for Johnson was against the Brandeis Broncos, who defeated the Jaguars 30-13 in last year's matchup. This years team was looking for revenge, but fell short, losing 68-53.
Although NEISD does not allow students to go off campus for lunch due to liability issues, other San Antonio school districts such as NISD do. NISD’s off campus lunch policies have sparked rising controversy with the recent Brandeis high school student accident incident. However, NISD has not changed its off campus lunch policy despite the student car accident taking place during lunch time.
